Sleep Rituals: 5 Ways to Wind Down in Softher

What you wear to bed is a small but real part of how well you wind down. Here are five simple rituals we hear from our own community — nothing that requires an hour of free time, just a few intentional minutes.

1. Change out of daywear the moment you're home, not right before bed. Sitting in soft satin for even an hour before sleep signals to your body that the day is winding down earlier than 11pm.

2. Keep a 'sleep only' set separate from your everyday loungewear. Wearing the same soft cami to run errands and to sleep in blurs the signal your brain associates with rest.

3. Dim the lights before you change, not after. Low light plus a soft fabric change is a small but effective one-two cue for your nervous system.

4. Pair it with a two-minute skincare step — even just a hand cream — so the ritual has a beginning and an end, rather than nightwear being an afterthought.

5. Keep your 'good' sets in easy reach, not folded at the bottom of a drawer. If reaching for something you love takes effort, you'll default to whatever old t-shirt is on top — and lose the ritual altogether.
